A short, honest shortlist. Programmes change, so always check the label on the day.
Berlin's most beautiful old cinema, a 1963 modernist hall with a neon sign. Regular OV and OmeU screenings and premieres.
Independent repertory house. Classics, retrospectives and new arthouse, much of it in the original language with subtitles.
An arthouse cinema tucked in the courtyards. Original-language programme, and a two-minute walk from where my walking tour ends.
New releases and festival films, many in OV or OmeU. Handy if you are staying in the west.
A group of a dozen screens (including Babylon Kreuzberg and Neues Off) that lists all its original-version showings in one place.
Two local sites collect every original-version screening across Berlin, so you can filter by cinema and language before you leave the hotel.
Prices and programmes are set by each cinema and change often. Ticket prices in 2026 sit around 9 to 14 euros; Monday and Tuesday are usually the cheap nights. Checked on 20 August 2026.
