A Monday in Berlin is not a wasted day. Keep Museum Island exteriors for the walk, then use Humboldt Forum, Futurium, Berlinische Galerie, the Reichstag dome or the TV Tower as your open anchor.
Do not build a Monday around the Altes Museum, Neues Museum, Bode-Museum, Alte Nationalgalerie or James-Simon-Galerie unless the official opening-hours page says otherwise.
