Should the bag go into the museum, the cloakroom or a station locker?

Choose the bag, the museum type and your next deadline. The planner gives one practical Berlin move before you lose time at the entrance.

Check first

1 Carry it in

Works only for a genuinely small bag and a relaxed visit.

2 Use cloakroom or locker

The normal move for backpacks, coats, umbrellas and A4-plus bags.

3 Store it before the museum

Best for suitcases, big backpacks, groups or anything you cannot risk being refused.

SMB rules use a 30 x 20 x 10 cm threshold for bags and warn that large storage is limited.

Bags larger than A4 go to the cloakroom or lockers. Larger-than-carry-on luggage may not be accepted.

Carry-on luggage lockers are available in the foyer, useful when you visit before a train.

Some sites, including the Jewish Museum Berlin, use entrance screening and require large bags at cloakroom.
