Which Berlin tram should you take?

Pick what you want to do. I will tell you the tram line to catch, the destination to look for on the front, the stops that matter, and one thing worth knowing before you board.

I want to…

Three things that are true on every Berlin tram

  • Trams run almost entirely in the former East. The M10 and M13 are the two that now cross into the old West.
  • Buy and stamp your ticket on board: the yellow machine sits mid-carriage, and its tickets come pre-validated.
  • A tram is named by its final stop, not a platform. Match the destination on the front to the way you want to go.

Lines and directions reflect the 2026 BVG tram network. Always glance at the destination sign on the front before you step on.
